KAYS RELEASES NEW SINGLE “INTIMIDATE"

Vancouver, BC, May 20th, 2021 -- Kays, the passionate afro-fusion artist, returns with an introspective track titled “Intimidate,” out now via Kays Nation Media Inc.

Just last year, Kays debuted his first EP No Underrate, delivering a glimpse of his Lagos life. His sophomore collection Heavenly Race arrived earlier this year, building on the first. Kays strives to stay true to himself with his creations and developed his very own signature sound—blending afro-pop and hip-hop to develop an original afro-fusion style.

Having had to overcome many obstacles in his lifetime, music production is about more than simply releasing new music, as each track represents the opportunity to share his story with the world. Kays believes it is important to stay focused on oneself, not get too caught up in what other people are saying or doing, and to just keep working hard in life.

While his new track “Intimidate” has been in creation over the past two years, Kays was able to complete the last verse as the BLM protests were occurring last year. During that time, he received motivation to voice his personal experiences with ongoing erroneous assumptions others cast upon him, based solely on physical appearances. As a Nigerian-born artist, Kays has faced his fair share of discrimination living in America and now based in Vancouver, Canada. There is still an apparent racial segregation which is largely due to the social injustices faced today.

With the release of “Intimidate,” Kays hopes to bring more awareness to these worldly issues. “People closest to me know that I’m the nicest person, humbly I am one of the nicest people you’ll meet in your whole life,” Kays remarks. Yet despite his kindness, Kays is viewed as intimidating to outsiders due to preconceived notions. “I am still human, like you, you should not feel intimidated by me, I am coming to spread good energy,” Kays says in closing.
